Year 9 Japanese
Learning a new language provides a means of communicating with people from another culture and exploring one's own personal world. Year 9 Japanese aims to develop students' understanding and ability to use familiar expressions and everyday vocabulary in order to interact in a simple way in supported situations.
Assessment
Japanese is assessed through a range of project based assessments as well as formal assessments throughout the year. These marks contribute to the Mid-Year Examinations
(counting 33% of the marks for the year) and End of Year Examinations (counting 67% of the marks of the year).
Entry Criteria
This course is open entry for all students. Native and background speakers of Japanese are not permitted to select this course.
All students in Year 9 take a language.
Equipment/Stationery and Course Costs
As this course makes extensive use of digital learning material. It is expected that you will have a laptop or other suitable learning device available for each class when required. There is a $22 course fee, which includes cultural activities and resources.
