Level 3 Art Design

Course Description

Teacher in Charge: Mrs H. Harrington.

Level 3 Art Design

Students will work on an integrated year long project with a self-generated brief. They will begin the year with a typographic logo design, poster design, and double page spread design. From term 2 onward students will choose their own briefs that are suitable to their chosen context.

Popular contexts that students may choose include: Musician branding and merchandise; comic book design, including layout and character design; restaurant branding, including menu and website design; and design for a campaign cause, such as climate change or mental health awareness.

Students will learn graphic design conventions and technical skills in industry standard Adobe programmes. Their years work will culminate in a portfolio that can be presented as a printed portfolio on three A1 size panels, or as a three minute moving image portfolio.
