Level 2 Foundation English
NCEA Level 2 Foundation English aims to help students develop the ability to think critically, communicate effectively, respond to language and symbols and to relate to the wider world in a supported environment. In this course, students will study a variety of texts which include a visual text and short texts. Students can gain a possible 8 Literacy credits needed for a University Entrance qualification from this course.

Entry Criteria
A course in English is compulsory for all NCEA Level 2 students.
Entry into Level 2 Foundation English requires successful completion of Year 11 Foundation English.
Note: Students can gain entry into 13ENG if they pass 12ENF with consistent Merit grades.
Equipment/Stationery and Course Costs
This course makes significant use of digital learning material at various times during the year. It is advantageous for a student to have a laptop during these times. Some learning activities, including assessments, will not be able to be completed without a laptop.
Auckland University has additional requirements regarding Literacy.
17 Level 2 or Level 3 English credits are required. If you do not meet this requirement, Auckland University will ask you to attend a Pre-University Entrance course with a focus on literacy.
