Year 9 Art

Course Description

Teacher in Charge: Miss J. Park.

Year 9 Art

Students are introduced to the fundamental skills and techniques of Observational drawing. Building on that, they explore the Art work of Artist Models, media and techniques and produce an Art works which communicates meaning about themselves.

The course is marked holistically, based on a folio model (adopted at senior level). This will include evidence gathered in lessons, lesson work, homework, final works and any other evidence which is presented in their Art journals.

Students will learn core skills needed to generate their own artwork by using drawing, painting and printmaking. They will learn how to respond to the artwork of others and begin to understand the importance of art in their culture and society.
