Entry CriteriaStudents must have successfully passed the Year 11 DVC Course.
In Level 2 DVC, you’ll take your creative thinking to the next level with three major projects across the year:
Product Design
Architectural Design
Presentation Techniques
You’ll build confidence in:
Freehand drawing and rendering
Ideation (generating clever, original ideas)
Model making and Photoshop
CAD software to present polished design work
Annotation and design judgment to explain your thinking
Research and development to push your designs further
We’ll send your strongest project for external assessment, and the rest will be internally assessed.
Total: Up to 19 credits available
1 external standard will be submitted
Note: You must have completed and passed all parts of the Year 11 Elevate DVC course to take this subject.
This course is perfect for students who are creative, hands-on, and passionate about solving real-world problems through design. It's a strong stepping stone into careers like:
Architecture, Industrial Design, UX Design, Graphic Design, Film Art, and more.

Level 3 Design & Visual Communication
DVC leads to Yr 13 DVC which is a university-approved subject. There is also scholarship DVC through HOD discussion. University study could include: Architecture, Design, Graphic Design, Illustration, Fine Arts, Advertising, Animation, Industrial Design, Landscape Architecture.
Equipment/Stationery and Course CostsThe stationery is available from the uniform shop but most boys will have their year 11 elevate kit to hold onto for Level 2. they may wish to add additional markers to their kit. students must purchase creative cloud for 10$ through my monitor and have a laptop able to run this software (not a chrome book)
Course selection does not guarantee a course will be available or that you have approval to take a course. Final course confirmation is in January and depends on your final results and in rare cases, staff availability.
