Entry Criteria

This course is open entry for all Year 12 students. 


Level 2 Media Studies

In this subject, students will learn about a variety of aspects of media which will prepare them for Year 13 Media Studies. Media Studies is a challenging subject and students will be expected to work hard in both written and practical assignments. Society is surrounded by the media, and students will learn to differentiate reality from falsehood in the media. From the representation inquiry, the design and production of a Thriller film trailer and the study of a media product and its audience, you can expect an exciting and rewarding year.

External Assessment Practice- 2.1 Audience Relationship with a product.

External Assessment preparation 2.1- Audience Relationship with a Media Product (Stranger Things)

Equipment/Stationery and Course Costs

This course makes significant use of digital learning material at various times during the year. It is advantageous for a student to have a laptop during these times. Some learning activities, including assessments, will not be able to be completed without a laptop.
All students will require a 16GB SD card for our filming unit.
