Level 3 Design & Visual Communication

Design and Visual Communication Level 3 is based on applying L1 and L2 knowledge through a self-managed design process where learners will choose to focus on either a product or spatial design brief they have created for themselves. The aim of the course is to focus on extending and transforming ideas, a deeper level of thinking, and enhancing their skills across a range of mixed media using a wide range of modes.

Students will think outside the square using 'ideation' as a tool to gather inspiration and allow them to visualize possible ideas to focus on for the year's project. Their brief must be solving a current/future issue that will become the focus of their major project. A great deal of the year's work is on research.

Sketching, rendering, photoshop, CAD, model making, annotating using design judgements are the skills that will be used to resolve the student's design solution. The course is preparing students for University study in Architecture, interior design, landscape design, graphic design, industrial/product design, gaming/animation and much more.

16 Credits are on offer in Level 3 Design & Visual Communication

It is expected that learners have a laptop and purchase the adobe creative cloud software for 10$
