Course Description

Entry Criteria

Entry into Level 3 Physical Education requires successful completion of a Level 2 course in Physical Education.

Students must also meet the requirements to study a Level 3 NCEA Award.

Dispensation can be made for those that have not done Level 2 PE. They must speak to the Level leader (Mr Scivier) about this though first.



Level 3 Physical Education

Year 13 Physical Education builds on the foundation laid at Levels 1 and 2 and offers 19 internal credits. The course involves both theory and practical lessons. The students will analyse and evaluate physical activity experiences, performances and training programmes as well as examine the impact of a recent sporting event on New Zealand society. The course is about 70% theory, 30% practical.

All students will need to have their own device as all internals use Microsoft Teams and all work is handed in on this platform.

Equipment/Stationery and Course Costs

This course makes significant use of digital learning material at various times during the year. It is advantageous for a student to have a laptop during these times. Some learning activities, including assessments, will not be able to be completed without a laptop.
