Course Description

Teacher in Charge: Ms R. Li.

Level 3 Physics

This course is excellent preparation for university Physics and covers a wide range of topics and skills, including the study of planetary motion, oscillations, AC circuits, and the Doppler Effect. The broad topics are mechanical, wave and electrical systems.

Entry Criteria

Entry into Level 3 Physics requires successful completion of a Level 2 course in Physics (14 or more credits at a minimum of Achieved level). Level 3 Physics is mainly externally assessed, so Achievement in both external assessments in Level 2 is highly recommended.

Students must also meet the requirements to study a Level 3 NCEA Award.

Pathway

Physics is recommended for university study in the following specialisations/majors: Engineering, Health Sciences, Medicine, Surgery, Nursing, Pharmacy, Optometry, Medical Imagining, Medicinal Chemistry, Pharmacology, Physics, Physiology, Psychology.
