Level 2 English for Academic Purposes - Reading & Listening

The Level 2 English for University Entrance course is designed for students who are studying towards University Entrance and require 10 Level 2 University Literacy credits. The course covers a range of useful academic and communication functions, as well as skills within the context of the themes of Earth and Space Science, nutrition, health and well-being. The course primarily teaches university study skills such as research, editing and referencing conventions.

 Students will explore the following skills across units

  • Skimming and scanning
  • Note taking
  • Inquiry Learning
  • Researching an aspect of a topic
  • Referencing and citation skills
  • Academic language usage

Whilst this course does not gain University Entrance within this year, it is designed for ESOL students who are following a University Entrance Pathway.

Entry Criteria

This course is designed for speakers of other languages.
