Level 2 English for Academic Purposes - Writing & Speaking
English Language Programme Writing for beginners is designed for students undertaking a two year pathway towards University Entrance and has a writing focus. The course covers a range of useful academic and communication functions, academic language and grammar within the context of environmental and ecological sustainability. Texts used in this course will be differentiated and assessment will be port-folio based. As part of the course, students will also explore environmental, social, cultural and economic factors that need to be considered in terms of sustainability.
Students will explore the following principles, values and skills across units
- Sustainability in different contexts
- Local and international practices that promote sustainability
- Aspects of sustainability- environmental, social, cultural and economic
- Maori concepts and values relating to the environment
Whilst this course does not gain University Entrance within this year, it is designed for ESOL students who are following a University Entrance Pathway.

This course is designed for speakers of other languages.
