Level 2 Biology

Entry CriteriaEntry into Level 2 Biology requires BOTH:
- Successful completion of Level 1 Science - Core (11SCI/11SCIE)
- AND An Achieved grade or higher in the Genetic Variation (Science 1.9) external examination.
Students must also meet the requirements to study a Level 2 NCEA Award.
Level 2 Biology
This is the main Level 2 Biology course. It prepares students for further study in University Approved Level 3 Biology (13BIO).
Students who take this course will increase their understanding of cell structure and functioning, and inheritance patterns in individuals and populations, building on those ideas from Level 1. The study of an ecological community, how animals have adapted to their way of life, and a group-based investigation, are internally assessed topics.
