Level 2 Physics - Extension

Entry CriteriaThis is a restricted entry course.
Students who wish to study Physics at Extension level need to meet the following criteria to guarantee selection for this programme:
- Excellence endorsement in Science - Core (11SCI/11SCIE)
- Merit endorsement in an Extension Science (11SCBE/11SCPE/11SCCE)
- An Excellence grade in the Level 1 Mechanics external examination.
Level 2 Physics Extension
This is the extension Physics course at Level 2, and it leads to Scholarship Physics in Level 3.
Students who have excelled in Science at Level 1 should find the combination of Level 2 and 3 assessments in this course challenging and rewarding. They cover similar content knowledge and skills to the 12PHY course, however there is an element of extension, and a focus on knowledge which leads to the Physics New Zealand Scholarship Examination.
